I’ve spoken about my love for Louis Vuitton a fair bit here on PurseBlog, and whether you currently love it or not, I bet there are many of you out there like me, whose bag obsessions began with the brand. My LV obsession has trended both up and down over the years, but currently it’s on an upswing. However, I’m at the point in my life where even though I still adore—and lust for–the bag brands that everyone loves, I don’t exactly want everything that everyone has. (Though admittedly, if I love a trendy piece enough that won’t stop me from getting it.) With an iconic bag brand like Louis Vuitton, it’s easy to see the same styles on the arms of your friends, celebs or that super-sylish stranger on the subway. I was right away intrigued when I laid eyes on the Louis Vuitton City Malle MM
The shape of this bag is different than most bags of the moment, and while it’s structured and pretty rectangular, it’s not overly boxy. This mixed media beauty is the perfect bag for office use in less conservative workplaces, or a stylish mom who has to carry more than just what would fit in those of-the-moment mini bags. Crafted of inverse monogram canvas and smooth calfskin, I love all of the details of this bag, from the patched leather corners and the accordion-like gusseted side, to the gold-toned hardware detailing. The leather trim is accented with tiny gold rivets, and a delicate gold chain that attaches to a lock and key—an LV classic.
The interior of the bag is lined in microfiber and has two slit pockets. The City Malle MM can be hand-carried via the top handle straps, or worn over the shoulder with the removable shoulder strap, which unfortunately, is not adjustable. Overall, I’m enamored with how different this bag is, both in comparison to other designer bags of the moment, as well as among LV’s most current lineup. With overall dimensions of 7.9″ L x 11.8″ W x 5.9″ D, this bag is a terrific size. You can get one of your own for $2,860 via Louis Vuitton.
